The brainstorms would give way to nearly 2,000 new ideas for Mario's next adventure. Wonder, which marks the first 2D Mario title in over eight years. Say what you want about Nintendo, but the gaming giant has always known when to go back to the drawing board. Still, given that Nintendo has released hundreds ( yes, hundreds) of Mario games over the years, you'd be forgiven for wondering when Nintendo would start spinning its wheels.
